Advisory Board

Mr. Healy joined Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) in 1980 and was admitted to the partnership ten years later. His first 19 years at Accenture were primarily focused on the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry. After an assignment in Toronto, where he managed a large part of Accenture’s Canadian practice, he led the firm’s Food & Consumer Goods Industry practice in North America. In 1999, Mr. Healy transferred to the firm’s Government practice. There he led the efforts at USPS, one of Accenture’s top five global clients, and then headed the global outsourcing business for the Government practice. Mr. Healy was a member of Accenture’s Global Leadership Council and its Government Operating Group Executive Committee. Since retiring from Accenture in 2003, Mr. Healy has started multiple LLCs focused on buying, selling, and managing real estate in Virginia and Colorado. He earned a B.S. in Business from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1978 and an MBA from the University of Maryland in 1979.

Mr. Adams began his career with strategic consulting firm McKinsey & Company, advising companies in a range of industries on organizational strategy, operations, and profitability analytics. For the past 25 years, he has held senior operations roles in large, mid-sized, and small companies including Black & Decker (where he helped launch DeWalt Power Tools), Kenetech Wind Power, Switch Manufacturing, Digital Lighthouse, U.S. Build, and United Dominion Realty Trust. He has managed companies at many stages of growth. Mr. Adams was COO when taking Digital Lighthouse public in 2000, and acquired and sold several companies. Since 2005, Mr. Adams has acquired, owned, and run Precision Equipment Placement and IMI, Inc. Throughout his career, he has led or played roles in a range of software implementations from the client side. Mr. Adams earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Duke in 1981, and an MBA from Stanford in 1986.

Ms. Adams began her career as an attorney with Jenkins & Gilchrist in Dallas, then joined Venable Baetjer & Howard LLP in Baltimore, where she focused on corporate tax and ERISA work and advised non-profit organizations. She is currently the Vice President of Administration for the rapidly growing IMI, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for the accounting, tax, and administrative functions of IMI. While raising three children, she also held leadership roles with a range of non-profit and volunteer organizations including the Colorado/Wyoming Vizsla Rescue Group, the Denver Ballet Guild, and the children’s schools. Ms. Adams earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Virginia (1981), and a law degree from the University of Texas (1984).

Jane has 25+ years of management consulting experience, including 20 years at Deloitte, where she was the Partner in charge of the power and utility practice in Canada, and of the Global renewable energy practice. She worked with clients to bring innovative solutions to complex problems, particularly through the application of technology and analytics to improve decision-making. She has led numerous large technology implementations. She was a member of Deloitte’s Management Committee and Board of Directors and was also their Chief Diversity Officer, receiving several awards from Catalyst Canada, Women’s Executive Network, and Women of Influence. After retiring from Deloitte, Jane joined a major power utility as Senior Vice-President of Strategy & Innovation, to develop their growth plans.  She currently serves on the Boards of McMaster University and the Ontario Centres of Excellence, an organization that supports the commercialization of new technologies. Jane received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from McMaster University and attended executive programs at the University of Toronto Rotman School of Business and IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Mr. Andrews served as MorganFranklin Consulting, LLC Chief Executive Officer for 4 years, leading the firm to significant growth, expansion into new markets, and a transition to a 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) structure. Prior to joining MorganFranklin, Andrews served as President and Chief Operating Officer of RSM McGladrey, Inc. where he built the firm’s brand, talent, and share in the middle market and continued its profitable growth while under the ownership of H&R Block, Inc. Andrews has served in various positions at SLM Corporation (Sallie Mae), including President, CEO, Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Vice President, among others. Andrews started his career at Arthur Andersen where he spent 28 years in roles of increasing responsibility including leadership positions in the Greater Washington region and globally.

Mr. Baer is the SVP, Global Telecommunications Industry at Salesforce Inc., and from November 2013 until June 2017, was the Senior Vice President of Global Communications and Media Industry at Salesforce. Mr. Baer served as the Chief Information Officer of Comcast Cable Communications Inc. from October 2006 until April 2012 He was responsible for developing Comcast’s internal Information Technology (IT) strategy that aligns technology to meet overall business needs and objectives, including oversight of Comcast’s customer care, billing and ordering systems; data centers; desktops; internal telephony and other corporate systems. Mr. Baer served as Vice President of Business Platform Services for AOL in Dulles, Va., where he managed several of the information technology initiatives required to transition a subscriber-based ISP to a premium service and advertising-driven web portal company. He served as Chief Information Officer of Verestar Inc. Prior to joining Verestar, he was Vice President for Customer Care Information Systems of Bell Atlantic/Verizon, one of the world’s leading providers of communications services. Mr. Baer was responsible for all strategic customer service and provisioning systems. He also spent 15 years at American Management Systems, Inc., where he served as Vice President. Mr. Baer has 30+ years of experience in the Information Technology field. He has been a member of the Advisory Board for the Smith School at the University of Maryland. He holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BS in Finance and Economics from the University of Maryland.

Ms. Shaw is an Executive Director of The Advisory Board Company, a global research, technology, and consulting firm serving the health care and higher education industries. As a member of the Advisory Board’s founding team, she has played many leadership and general management roles. As the leader of the firm’s flagship Health Care Advisory Board program, Ms. Shaw directed the firm’s research on strategy, innovation, corporate governance, and operations for health system CEOs. Ms. Shaw has launched, developed, and led several new healthcare practice areas for the firm in consulting, talent development, international research, and data. Ms. Shaw currently oversees the firm’s international division and serves as Executive Entrepreneur in the firm’s corporate strategy division. Ms. Shaw is a graduate of Harvard Business School (1985), holds an MA degree in Russian area studies from Harvard (1979), and a BA in Russian and Political Science from Middlebury College (1977).
