The Local’s Guide to Snowflake Summit 2026

The Local’s Guide to Snowflake Summit 2026

The countdown to Snowflake Summit 2026 is on! As an expert Snowflake consultancy and proud Summit sponsor, we’re excited to share our Snowflake Summit guide with local tips and pro advice to help you make the most of your week in San Francisco.

What is Snowflake Summit?

Snowflake Summit is Snowflake’s flagship annual conference, bringing together data, AI, analytics, and application leaders from around the world. The event takes place June 1–4, 2026, in San Francisco at Moscone Center.

Planning Your Snowflake Summit Experience

Define Your Objectives
Are you looking to network, solve specific problems, or discover new ideas? Clear goals will help you navigate the event more effectively.

Build Your Agenda
Popular sessions fill up quickly. Review the Summit Session Catalog and use the Agenda Builder to map out your schedule. Be sure to download the Snowflake Summit mobile app (iOS, Android) to get session reminders, access to event maps, and more.

Connect with Experts
Summit week is one of the best opportunities to connect directly with Snowflake peers and experts. Don’t wait until you arrive to schedule meetings (calendars fill up fast). You can use the Braindate feature in the Summit mobile app to schedule time with peers. Get your toughest Snowflake challenges solved by the Coastal team — book time here.

What to Pack

Comfortable Shoes
You’ll walk far more than expected between Moscone buildings, hotels, and networking events (Moscone itself spans multiple city blocks!). And if you decide to explore farther afield, be prepared for San Francisco’s hills.

Layers
San Francisco weather can be famously unpredictable (as Mark Twain once said, “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.”). Fun fact: locals nicknamed the city’s fog “Karl” — and Karl even has an X account.

Portable Power Bank
This is a must to keep your devices powered up throughout the day. Charging stations and power outlets are in high demand during Summit week.

Transportation

Public Transit
San Francisco’s public transit system is second only to New York City in coverage and frequency. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) trains run directly from both SFO and Oakland airports into downtown San Francisco. If you’re heading to Moscone Center or a hotel near Union Square, you’ll want to exit at Powell St. Station. Once in the city, Muni’s iconic streetcars, buses, and cable cars make it easy to get around. Just tap your contactless bank card or mobile wallet at a Clipper reader — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are all accepted.

If you prefer two wheels, bikes are available through the Lyft app and scooters through the Lime app (though unless you have a helmet and are sober, do yourself a favor: walk or grab a rideshare).

Ridesharing
In addition to Uber and Lyft, Waymo autonomous vehicles have become a ubiquitous ridesharing option in San Francisco. They’re widely available across the city and can be a fun experience for first-time riders. Download the Waymo app here.

Food, Drink & Exploring the City

San Francisco has some of the best food, cocktails, and scenery in the country. If you can, use a few hours before or after sessions to explore the city’s neighborhoods, restaurants, parks, and waterfront. It’s a very easy city to get around and covers only 49 square miles.

Find Your San Francisco Vibe

San Francisco neighborhoods each have their own personality.

North Beach: Italian-American heritage and Beat Generation roots, with charming side streets, classic Italian restaurants, excellent espresso, City Lights Bookstore, and lively late-night energy.

Mission District: Hip, creative, and energetic, with vibrant Latino culture, trendy restaurants, legendary burritos, vibrant cocktail bars, colorful murals, and live music venues.

Embarcadero: Scenic waterfront walks, the iconic Ferry Building with gourmet everything, and some of the city’s best waterfront dining.

Hayes Valley: Upscale, highly walkable, and packed with trendy restaurants, wine bars, boutique shopping, and stylish cafés.

Marina District: Beautiful Golden Gate Bridge views, young professional energy, health-focused cafés, lively bars, plenty of dogs, and stunning walks along Crissy Field.

Fisherman’s Wharf: One of San Francisco’s most iconic tourist areas, known for seafood, sourdough bread bowls, sea lions at Pier 39, waterfront views, and easy access to Alcatraz tours.

Union Square: Formerly the city’s primary shopping district that has quieted down some in recent years but still offers major retailers, luxury brands, hotels, and galleries with easy access to theaters.

Chinatown: One of the oldest and largest Chinatowns in North America, filled with great dim sum, markets, and vibrant street life. Walk Grant Avenue for the iconic experience, then explore the side streets for authentic food and local character.

Safety Tips & City Awareness

Like any major city, San Francisco has areas that are more comfortable for visitors than others. During Summit week, most conference zones around Moscone Center, Yerba Buena, the Embarcadero, and major hotel corridors are busy, active, and heavily trafficked by attendees throughout the day and evening.

You may encounter visible homelessness or individuals experiencing mental health challenges in parts of the city. Staying aware of your surroundings and using common urban precautions will help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

The map below provides an overview of areas commonly considered higher risk, as well as neighborhoods where extra awareness is recommended, particularly at night. Like any major city, experiences can vary by block and time of day, so please use this as a general guide only.
